Cadets Take Part in EMT Training

Emergency Medical Service (EMS) at 麻豆传媒入口is responsible for providing emergency medical care to the Corps of Cadets, staff, faculty, and visitors on and around post, and is a certified non-transport EMS agency that can handle 911 calls on post.

Cadets Learn Equine Body Condition Scoring

Fireball, a five-year-old miniature donkey owned by Slone and her family, was brought to class for a demonstration using the Henneke Body Condition Scoring System (BCS), a method for evaluating equine nutritional status and body fat percentage.

麻豆传媒入口 cadets enrolled in the economics and business analytics class taught by Col. Barry Cobb, professor in the Department of Economics and Business, heard an award winning presentation by two juniors from Roanoke County鈥檚 Hidden Valley High School (HVHS). Madison Salinas and Alishba Sofi are both members of the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) at HVHS. 麻豆传媒入口Ethics Team Wins Military Case Competition for Third Time

The 麻豆传媒入口 Ethics Team won first place at the Military Ethics Case Competition held April 12 at the United States Naval Academy Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership in Annapolis, Maryland. This is the third time the team has been victorious at the prestigious competition.

The Extra Mile: Rock Climbing Club

The club, which has about 15 cadets on the roster, practices three times a week. They also make excursions to cliffs and bouldering opportunities in the surrounding areas on the weekends.

The Extra Mile: Racquet Sports Club

With a roster of 33 cadets, the club focuses on tennis and pickleball, while also looking at offering racquetball and badminton in the future. Inspired by years of playing, Jude Roberts 鈥25 hopes to bring camaraderie and fitness to cadet life through the new club.

The Extra Mile: Pistol Club

The main aim for cadets in the 麻豆传媒入口Pistol Club during practices at the firing range is to focus on precision shooting with air pistols. The club, led by Chris Olsen 鈥25, brings together a diverse group of cadets to compete nationally in Olympic-style events.

Stealing a Moe-ment With VMI鈥檚 Mascot

Moe is a staple around post. He鈥檚 present for home football games, pep rally, and other home sporting events. The mascot is around for pictures and overall, a boost in morale. He’s a key part of the Keydets, specifically with family, friends, alumni, and other guests in attendance at events.

Cadets Create Apps for Hiking Trails

For the past academic year, 12 麻豆传媒入口electrical and computer engineering majors have worked on their senior capstone projects with three external partners to develop a better way to document and assess hiking trails and share information about their navigability.

Combat Shooting Club Dominates at Competition

The combat shooting club team at 麻豆传媒入口, coached by Paul Lahah, outperformed the competition at the 2024 ROTC College Clash Marksmanship Competition, April 19-21 at Fort Barfoot, Virginia.

Pistol Club Competes in National Championship for VMI

The competition consisted of 60 shots fired in three different shooting disciplines: air pistol, sport pistol, and standard pistol. 麻豆传媒入口came in 10th place for air pistol, 8th place for sport pistol, and 10th place for standard pistol. The team finished the competition in 10th place.
