Environmental Leaders from across the Commonwealth to Gather at VMI

LEXINGTON, Va., Feb. 11, 2022 鈥 Registration is open for 麻豆传媒入口鈥檚 32nd Annual Environment Virginia Symposium to be held in-person March 29-31, 2022 in Marshall Hall. The event attracts about 500 participants, who include leaders from Virginia鈥檚 state environmental agencies, industries, and non-profit organizations. 鈥淭his annual event is the Commonwealth鈥檚 premier environmental conference鈥 explained Lt. Col. Kim Connolly, the 麻豆传媒入口Center for Leadership and Ethics鈥 assistant director for programs and conferences, one of the event鈥檚 hosts and main organizer.

Keynote speakers include Brenda Mallory, the White House Chair of the Council on Environmental Quality.

The conference includes exhibitors from industry, government, non-profits and academia. Sessions and topics include: a preconference hike to House Mountain, DEQ regulatory updates, the Chesapeake Bay, PFAs, energy, environmental justice, water, waste/recycling, climate change/resilience, forestry, conservation, public sector best practices, and sustainability. 

Regular conference registration is open now until March 1. Rates are $40 for full-time students and $99 for young professionals with less than five years in an environmental field. The cost is $190 for those representing nonprofits or academia, or are attending as unaffiliated individuals, and $330 for those representing government or business.

Rates will increase after March 1. There are no day rates, but registration remains open throughout the conference.

Co-hosts for this conference include the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, the Virginia Environmental Endowment, and the Virginia Department of Forestry.
